Champions League Preview: 24.11.09 - Eto'o out for revenge

Barcelona v Inter Milan (Camp Nou) 8.45pm
  • Barcelona will know by kick-off exactly how important this match is. If Rubin Kazan manage to beat Dynamo Kiev at home (6.30pm) then defeat to Inter will put an end to Barca's defence of the trophy; a nightmare scenario for last years triple winners.
  • Jose Mourinho and Samuel Eto'o will be returning to their former home. One is likely to recieve a rapturous applause, the other a right royal heckling. 'The translator' still hasnt been forgiven for past grievances with the Catalan club when manager of Chelsea. Former 'cule' hero Eto'o will be looking to exact revenge on former boss Guardiola, who was largely to blame for his forced exit.
  • Messi and Ibrahimovic are doubts, although I have my suspicions the big Swede will play some part in the match. Yaya Toure is still out with swine flu, whilst Pique and Puyol will have to be on their toes with Eto'o and Diego Milito capable of scoring out of nothing. Nerves will be jangling tonight at the Camp Nou.

Unirea Urziceni v Sevilla (Ghencea) 8.45pm
  • In stark contrast to Barca's problems, Sevilla have already confirmed their passage into the knock-out stages and travel to Romania with the solitary task of mathematically securing top spot. Luis Fabiano likely to be rested, with Kanoute looking to further his comeback from injury.
  • Dan Petrescu's Romanian team have been a revelation in this years tournament, and will be looking for a win to to edge themselves closer to qualifying for the next stage. Stuttgart and Rangers will be hoping Sevilla can do them a huge favour, as they both play for their futures in the competition in the other group tie.
  •  Chelsea fans might want to look away! Tom Henning Ovrebo will be taking charge of tonights match, for the first time in the Champions League since that fateful night at Stamford Bridge.
