They dont really seem to do 'Goal of the Year' in La Liga, and if they do I sure can't find it, so to buck the trend I've gone for a few goals that would be in with a shout. A heavenly dribble and shot from Leo Messi, an audacious piece of skill from Javi Martinez against Almeria and a bullet from Cristiano Ronaldo against Villarreal. Bit of everything in those goals. Pace, power, technique, skill, precision. Top stuff. If you reckon I've missed a sitter and left one out, post it below and I'll stick it in. If it's worthy of course! Cheers.

The first goals that spring to mind are Sergio Canales vs Sevilla and Benzema vs Deportivo (because of Guti's backheel)

ReplyDeleteI also remember Cristiano scoring a fantastic goal where he beat a defender, then did a couple step-overs, executed the fakes perfectly to shrug off the defender and as he burst into the box he slotted the ball into the goal. Do you remember that one?
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I'd have to say that my favorite of these ones is the Ronaldo one, the power and swerve he puts on the ball is majestic. That ball was unstoppable.
Of those three above, I'd go for Messi's every time.
