LIECHTENSTEIN 0 - 4 SPAIN: Torres double helps Spain see off minnows

Fernando Torres enjoyed a goalscoring return to form as Spain routed Liechtenstein in their Euro 2012 qualifying opener in Vaduz. Two goals of the highest order sandwiched David Villas 43rd international goal (just one behind Raul now) with David Silva jumping off the bench to slot in Spains fourth. The world champions set themselves on route to retaining their Euro 2008 triumph with a typically classy exhibition, running rings around a determined but limited Liechtenstein. Indeed if it hadn't been for a stubborn display from home keeper Peter Jehle, several spurned opportunities and the intervention of the crossbar late on, Spain and David Villa could have been celebrating yet more goals. Liechtenstein coach, Hans Zaugg, remarked after the match that Spain are the footballing version of perfection. Yes they are Hans.
