As expected, Argentine superstar Lionel Messi snatched the FIFA World Player of the Year Award for 2009, capping an unbeatable year in which he has contibuted to Barcelonas six trophy haul and bagged the coveted Ballon D'Or. The prize was decided by all the managers and captains of the International sides accredited by FIFA and was presented to Leo during a snazzy bash in Zurich headed by the master of ceremonies Sepp Blatter. Cristiano Ronaldo wasn't left empty-handed either, as he was handed the FIFA Puskas Award for the most beautiful goal scored during 2009 for his missile against Porto in last seasons Champions League Quarter-final. A worthy winner.
