Today UEFA published a list of 60 candidates that will form the UEFA Team of the Year 2009. Eleven players and one manager will be chosen by fans from across the world to represent the best of European football over the last year, and the team announced on January 8th 2010. Their are eleven Spaniards on the shortlist along with nine others who ply their trade in La Liga. You can vote for your team at UEFA Team of the Year To make it more interesting, I have chosen an XI not using more than one player from any one team. See my team in the comments below!

i started to do it but sorry, it's impossible, whether one from each team or not ...it's just impossible not to leave someone out who i can't leave out ...and/or end up with a completely unbalanced team!
ReplyDeleteTotally impossible! Thats why I did one only using one player from each team, just to make a little easier! ;)
ReplyDeleteI mean, no Iniesta or Messi? Not going to happen.
This is impossible, but I'll give it a go...
ReplyDelete(Based on last season's performances)
Van der Sar
Dani Alves
Nemanja Vidic
John Jerry
Patrice Evra
Cristiano Ronaldo
Xavi
Kaka
Andres Iniesta
Lionel Messi
Wayne Rooney
Good effort ;)
ReplyDeleteI like the way you've included Rooney and three other United players there!
That has to be as close to a World XI as you can get. Maybe take out Kaká for a more defence minded midfielder.
Haha it was difficult for me to include so many United players :-P but what can I say? I try to be unbias.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Toure for Kaka? He's not getting much time now, but he was pretty solid last season!
